DON'T TEXT AND DRIVE: A reminder to our music students and parents

Dear BHS musicians, families and friends:

The BHS Music Boosters Association would like to remind all of our student musicians to be safe when they drive.

Many of you drive to and from school during football season, rehearsals for various performances and other activities.

Please remember to put the phones away while driving. Use your electronic devices safely and work out a plan to let your parents and others know where you are and when you will be leaving so you are not tempted to pick up your phone or device while driving. And insist that your friends do the same.

The Safe Driving Act states "No person under 18 years of age shall use a mobile telephone, hands-free mobile telephone or mobile electronic device while operating a motor vehicle on any public way. For the purposes of this section, a junior operator shall not be considered to be operating a motor vehicle if the vehicle is stationary and not located in a part of the public way intended for travel." We are proud of all of you and your accomplishments. Enjoy your high school years. But always remember to be safe, young musicians.

DON'T TEXT AND DRIVE.
