TOWN WIDE BAND CONCERT: I'll have the "Band for 400" please!

The instrumental music faculty of Burlington Public Schools is pleased to announce the performance of a Town Wide Band Concert on Thursday, March 11. The concert will begin at 7:00 pm in the gymnasium of the high school.

The performance will feature all Burlington Public Schools student bands from Fox Hill, Pine Glen, Memorial and Francis Wyman elementary schools, Marshall Simonds Middle School and Burlington High School, totaling approximately 400 students.

The young musicians, ranging in age from grades 9 through 18, will be seated with their band on the floor of the gym and will remain there throughout the concert, allowing each group to experience all the performances, with audience members seated in the bleachers. Combined performances will also be heard, including one that will bring together all the students from Burlington in one wonderful finale.

The Burlington High School Music Boosters Association will offer concessions to commemorate this musical event.

The Town Wide Band Concert is open to the public and admission is free. The gym at Burlington High School is handicapped accessible.

My Family just got home from the town wide band concert. It made us feel very proud to be Burlington Public School parents. The musicians at all levels played great and they have obviously been working hard.

We are fortunate to have such a talented group of music teachers in the system. Thank you to Mrs. Peabody, Mrs. Gendron, Mr Napierkowski, Miss Potts, Mr Bolduc, and Mr. Lovell, for doing such a great job of preparing the kids.

Hearing Beethoven's 9th performed by 6 bands with 6 conductors was inspiring. It was one of the finest examples of teamwork I've seen in a long time.

Congratulations to all of the musicians and teacher alike!
