FUN FUNDRAISING AT WOBURN HALLOWEEN PARADE

The Burlington High School Marching Band will be marching to the beat of a different drummer when it takes to the streets of Woburn on October 25, participating in the Woburn Halloween Parade. Organized by the Woburn Host Lion’s Club, the annual parade is celebrating its 55th year. For a number of those years, the Burlington Red Devils Marching Band has taken its place, proudly representing Burlington as it winds along the parade route down Woburn’s Main Street.

The Marching Band members from Burlington will use the opportunity to host its own “Halloween Parade March-a-thon.” As a fundraising opportunity for their upcoming trip and performance in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Orlando during the spring of 2010, members will be collecting pledges for their 5-mile march that will be applied towards their individual Disney accounts.

A favorite annual event with an estimated 80,000 spectators of all ages, the Woburn Host Lion’s Club Halloween Parade also provides an opportunity for Lion's Club members to collect donations along the parade route for eye research. Featuring a multitude of bands and marching units, close to 100 floats and over 5,000 participants in the parade, it will be a great take on the afternoon of the 25th!

The Burlington High School Marching Band is certain to be one of the highlights of the day. With each instrumental and auxiliary unit topping their marching uniform with costumes and disguises, this group of musicians always entertains the crowd and is considered to be one of the best marching bands in eastern Massachusetts.

The Woburn Host Lion’s Club Halloween Parade is free of charge. Make a day of it and support our talented young students from Burlington High School.
