BEST performs Disney's "Aladdin Jr." July 28


Burlington Educational Summer Theatre (BEST) returns to the stage of the Fogelberg Performing Arts Center this summer with Disney’s “Aladdin Jr.” Performances will take place on July 28 at 2:00 and 7:00 pm.

Adapted from the favorite Disney animated film, “Aladdin Jr.” fills the stage with wonder and amazement as the cast transforms the stage into “Agrabah, City of Enchantment, where every beggar has a story and every camel has a tail!”




With an Academy Award-winning score by Alan Menkin and lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, “Aladdin Jr.’s” songs are unforgettable and include “Arabian Nights,” “A Friend Like Me,” “A Whole New World,” and more.

BEST, a summer enrichment program sponsored by the Burlington Public Schools, strives to give young students a solid basis of experience and knowledge in theatre arts so they can grow and develop as performers.



Leading the cast of “Aladdin, Jr.” are Patrick Creedon as Aladdin, Jade Gordon as Jasmine, Timmy Sullivan as Iago, Crystal Curran as Jafar, Clara Hevia as Genie, Sara Cannalonga as Magic Carpet, Miranda Russo as Razoul and Amanda Melin as Sultan.

Also featured in the BEST production are narrators Kaitlyn Brine, Marlea Gainley, Julia Gillis, Christina Raposo, Emma Saltsman and Amanda Wagreich.

Agrabah princes include Michael Fazio as Prince Baba of Ganoush, Shane Manfredi as Prince Dahdu Rahn-Rahn, and Mark Czerwinski as Prince Formerly Known as Artist. Joining them are Prince’s Attendants James Fulciniti, Elisa Gonzalez, Nicholas Heisler, Chloe McGonagle, Stephen Nigro and Cameron Noonan; and Guards Dillon Banks, Neil Bhammar, Scott Czerwinski, Ravi Patel and Joe Viscione; and Jasmine’s Attendants Angie Melin and Samantha Murphy.

“Aladdin Jr.” features dancers Isabel Bowen, Christina Charmant, Mikaila Gnerre, Kellsee Lynch, Elise Madenjian, Sydney Matai, Nicole Noonan, Sarah Owens, Ivy Saltsman and Jayna Wallus as Harem Girls. Shopkeepers are played by Nicole Benjamin, Stephanie Brincklow, Ashley Capobianco, Teresa Chan, Sydney Craig, Mari Gedick, Paige Giordano, Krista Magnarelli, Daniella Mollica, Juliana Nigro, Christina Tierney and Madison Walker, and the Baker is played by Glenn Middleton-Cox.

Townspeople include Elizabeth Amaral, Mikaela Budina, Carly Front, Lily Hovasse, Emily Klesaris, Mary Hanafin, Samantha Matai, Heather Murphy, Jodi Princiotta, Rachel Schlansky, Caitlin Shea, Katie Surabian and Julie Surabian.



Executive Director John Middleton-Cox is joined by a creative staff that teaches and nurtures the students in all aspects of musical theatre. Staff members include April Foley as Artistic & Music Director, Leanne Reardon as choreographer, Maura Lyons as Assistant Director, Eric Leva as Assistant Music Director, and Kristin Healey as Assistant Choreographer, Peter Waldron as Scenic Designer, Maureen Tierson Krebs as Costume Designer, Kevin Deane Parker as Production Manager, Chet Maguire as Master Carpenter and Samantha Ellis as Company/House Manager (view biographies at www.BurlingtonTheatre.com). Also on staff are Joe Sateriale as Lighting Technician and Rachel Merulla as Sound Technician.

The BEST performances of Disney’s Aladdin Jr. will take place in the Fogelberg Performing Arts Center, 123 Cambridge Street, Burlington.
